The Shape of Early Ideas
Observations on how we pull abstract concepts into structured, workable prototypes before they solidify.

I like moving between the idea and the thing itself: the name, the identity, the interface, and the code. Each one can expose something the others missed. I do not want to take every project through the same sequence of methods. I want to understand its people, constraints, and goals, then choose what helps. Sometimes that means a plain-text brief. Sometimes it means building a small interaction to find out what the brief cannot tell us. The useful question is whether the next step makes the decision clearer. A beautiful screen can help, but it still needs to work for the person using it and the business behind it.
